Live Music at Kirby’s Southlake: Make Your Night Out Special
There are few things better than enjoying a romantic dinner at a fine restaurant. At Kirby’s Steakhouse at Southlake, we firmly believe that an incredible atmosphere has a lot to do with it. That’s why we provide a beautiful and inviting environment for your party in our dining area.
The vibrant atmosphere doesn’t stop there. Unless you’ve ventured into Kirby’s Southlake location after 7 p.m. on a Friday or Saturday night, you may not know about our incredible live music experience. During those hours, our lounge area transforms into a lively space full of great music and fun people. We talked to Bil Semon, general manager at Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse about the live entertainment, atmosphere, and the incredible artists we get each month at our Southlake location.
Live music selection at Kirby’s Southlake
As far as the genres go, Kirby’s likes to cater to a wide range of styles. “We have anything from classic rock to pop,” Bil said, “There’s a lot of jazz and blues as well.” There are several staple performers that come out each month, like Blake and Fallon, a duo out of Austin that brings a pop-folksy style to our restaurant.
Another performer who graces our stage is the incredible Wanda King, daughter of the legendary blues artist Freddie King. “Every month we have Wanda King – that’s our blues and solid rock, which can get too loud, but it’s awfully good music.”
With performances happening every Friday and Saturday, many other artists come out each month to share their music as well. Kirby’s Southlake location hosts a blend of University of North Texas musical talents, as well as local Dallas performers who’ve been on the scene for decades. “For the most part it’s local artists,” Bil said. “I see a lot of faces that I saw way back in the day on Greenville Avenue in the ‘80s and ‘90s.”
Other performers from the state show up as well, like the incredible vintage and jazzy sound of the Texas Gypsies. Bil has noticed the great reaction from restaurant patrons and the group’s perfect fit with the Kirby’s Southlake style. “They have a unique sound of violin and sometimes sax involved. It’s a Texas swing sound that just flows very well with what we do here.”
Ultimately, the live music lineup at Kirby’s features a variety of unique artists, and the audience loves the mood they bring to a fine steakhouse meal. “You have fine food, good service, and a lively atmosphere. If you’re coming here for entertainment, that’s the excitement there.”
